How it works

  1. Watch

Connect Cloudflare with read-only access. CostHex estimates hourly spend for Workers, Durable Objects, D1, KV, R2, Queues, Workers AI, Images, Browser Rendering and Containers. It also estimates your current billing-period total.

  2. Set an alert threshold

Resources in an account share one default hourly threshold and are checked separately. Optional anomaly detection compares spend with a 7-day baseline after at least 24 hours of data. Alerts repeat every 30 minutes until someone taps “I’m on it”.

  3. Point at the fix

Alerts include resource links and handling suggestions. CostHex uses read-only access and cannot stop spending for you. End-to-end alert latency has not been measured.

Questions

Does CostHex need write access?
No. CostHex monitors Cloudflare with read-only access. It cannot pause resources or make changes in your account.
Can CostHex cap my Cloudflare bill?
No. CostHex alerts you when a resource exceeds an hourly spend threshold. You decide what to change. Resources in the same account share one default threshold and are checked separately.
How fast will I hear about a spike?
Free checks one account hourly. Solo and Pro are configured for minute-by-minute checks, but paid upgrades are not open. Cloudflare reporting delays also affect detection. End-to-end alert latency has not been measured.
How does anomaly detection work?
You must enable it first. It compares spend with a 7-day baseline and needs at least 24 hours of data before it can detect unusual spend.
Where do my credentials live?
Your Cloudflare token is stored encrypted. CostHex uses it to read usage for monitoring.
